Stability Starts with a Safe Place to Call Home

JFS is proud to announce the Housing Supports Program (HSP), created in partnership with Managed Care Organizations. The program is designed to help New Jersey FamilyCare members who are experiencing—or at risk of—homelessness connect with the resources they need to secure and maintain safe, stable housing.

“At JFS, we firmly believe housing is not a privilege—it’s a human right,” said Laura Rodgers, Chief Impact Officer. “Affordable housing is a challenge nationwide, and especially here in South Jersey, but we are committed to helping people have a safe place to call home.”

Through HSP,  participants receive one-on-one case management to create personalized housing plans, assistance finding housing, and access to financial support for moving expenses. The program also offers wraparound services including eviction prevention, rental assistance, legal referrals, help with benefits like SNAP and SSI, and connections to utility or remediation support. In its first year, JFS hopes to help 145 New Jersey FamilyCare members achieve housing stability.

The program is available to adults 18 and older in Atlantic and Cape May Counties who are enrolled in New Jersey Medicaid with an active managed care organization and facing medical, mental health, or functional challenges that affect their ability to maintain housing. Whether someone is coping with chronic illness, developmental disabilities, pregnancy, or other barriers, HSP is designed to guide them from housing insecurity to stability and overall wellness.
