VILLAGE SOCIAL: A Holocaust Remembrance: Rebuilt from Broken Glass

March 15 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join us for a viewing of the documentary, Rebuilt from Broken Glass: A German Jewish Life Remade in America. As a boy in Halberstadt, Germany, Fred Behrend saw firsthand the destruction of Jewish life during the Kristallnacht pogrom. His family’s home was invaded, the synagogue burned, and Jewish men were beaten and arrested. That marked the
moment his parents realized they needed to flee Germany. Following the film, there will be a Q&A with Fred Behrend and filmmaker Larry Hanover. This program made possible by the Holocaust Awareness Museum & Education Center, Stockton Holocaust Resource Center, Board of Jewish Education, JFS’ Lynn Kramer Village by the Shore, and Jewish Federation of
Atlantic & Cape May Counties. Attend in-person at the Katz JCC, 501 N. Jerome Avenue, Margate. RSVP by March 10.
