Andrea Steinberg, LCSW
Chief Executive Officer
As JFS’ Chief Executive Officer, Andrea Steinberg manages the agency’s myriad of programs, providing essential support and services to more than 13,000 people annually. She navigates business matters, shapes the nonprofit narrative, and successfully fosters relationships to ensure we remain the foremost social services agency in Atlantic and Cape May Counties.
With nearly thirty years of experience in the mental health industry, Andrea combines her clinical expertise with strong leadership and management skills. JFS has grown into an organization with a budget of $16 million and more than 175 employees. Andrea’s leadership has been pivotal to the agency’s ability to adapt to the current environment to ensure that the community’s evolving needs continue to be met.
Andrea earned a Master of Social Science in Social Work from Bryn Mawr College and a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Boston University. Currently, she is on the National Board of the Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies, where she chairs the Best Practices & Membership Committees and the Stockton Women’s Leadership Council, where she serves as a Board member and student mentor. Previously, she served on the Board of the Association of Jewish Family & Children’s Agencies and United Way of Atlantic County.
In 2024, Andrea was presented with the Lifesaver Award from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Last year, she was honored with The Jack I. Fox Community Leadership award from the Jewish Federation of Atlantic & Cape May Counties. She has also received the Sadie Nauy Older Adult Service award, Beth El Synagogue Woman of Valor, and was nationally recognized with the Association of Jewish Human Service Agencies Leadership Award. Andrea was also honored with a Peer Leadership Award by Samost Jewish Family & Children’s Service of Southern New Jersey and the Henry J Remeis Executive Director of the Year Award through the United Way.
