The Lynn Kramer Village by the Shore Programs in June

The Lynn Kramer Village by the Shore at Jewish Family Service of Atlantic & Cape May Counties (JFS) offers a host of fun, interactive and interesting programs in June. With both virtual and in-person options to participate, you, your family, friends and neighbors will enjoy these nine programs.

Positivity Project: Morning Refresh

Thursday, June 8 from 10:30am to 11:30am

Start your day in an upbeat way! Explore positivity with JFS Wellness Coordinator Mary Jean Arreola and Village Community Specialist Tina Serota. You’ll learn ways to boost wellness – mind, body, and soul. Topics include self-care, mindfulness, gratitude, meditation, and resiliency. RSVP by June 5.

Village Goes to the Ventnor Farmers Market

Friday, June 9 and June 16 from 8:30am to 12pm each day

Come visit or volunteer to assist at the Village informational table at the Ventnor Farmers Market, located on New Haven and Atlantic Avenues in the St. James Church parking lot. Meet, greet and share your enthusiasm for Village events and services as you enjoy sunshine, sea air and an opportunity to shop from local farmers and vendors. Admission is free.

Village Film Society

Tuesday, June 13 from 10:30am to 11:30am

Join Village Community Specialist Tina Serota for a discussion about the motion picture, A Man Called Otto, starring Tom Hanks. The movie showcases the story of a curmudgeon who, following his wife’s death, no longer sees purpose in life until a lively young family moves in next door. The film can be viewed on Netflix. RSVP by June 8.

Lunch Around Town

Wednesday, June 14 from 12pm to 1:30pm

Enjoy a leisurely lunch with friends and neighbors while supporting a local restaurant. This month, we’ll dine at Romanelli’s On the Greene, 210 New Road, Suite 13 in Linwood. Come prepared for good food and fun conversation. Order off the menu. Pay individually. RSVP by June 9.

Memoir Workshop: Hybrid – New Day!

Thursday, June 15 from 10:30am to 12pm

Experience the thrill of capturing your life’s adventures, history, and ancestry at the Memoir Workshop led by award-winning author and Drexel University Director of Certificate Program in Writing and Publishing, Harriet Levin Millan. Learn about publishing your work. You need a laptop or pen/paper for the workshop. Attend in-person at the Katz JCC Boardroom, 501 North Jerome Avenue in Margate or via Zoom. RSVP by June 8.

Evening Yoga with Candace

Monday, June 19 from 7pm to 8pm

Join Candace Martin for a Yoga class via Zoom. Find balance and tranquility while experiencing mental, physiological and spiritual rejuvenation as you enjoy quiet stillness and gentle body moves that burn off excess energy. Comfort Cooking: Light & Delicious

Join Bernadette Getzler, healthy eating and gardening guru, as she takes you on a food journey using farm fresh ingredients. You’ll learn to cook summer specialty recipes in new and creative ways by taking existing ingredients and substituting healthier options. RSVP by June 14.

Wednesday, June 21 from 7pm to 7:30pm

Coffee Klatch Hosts Sara & Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center Presentation

Thursday, June 22 from 10:30am to 12pm

Join Gail Rosenthal and Irvin Moreno-Rodriguez of the Sara & Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center at Stockton University as they explore the history of the Holocaust and the impact of non-Jews who rescued Jews in Nazi-occupied Europe. They will share how one person can make a difference and change the course of history. This uplifting presentation is a reminder to every generation about how each of our individual actions ripple outward and can affect the whole. Q&A following the presentation. Light refreshments will be served. The program takes place in the Katz JCC Boardroom, 501 North Jerome Avenue in Margate. RSVP by June 19.

The Lynn Kramer Village by the Shore is a membership program for adults age 50+. The program provides Intergenerational Events, Transportation, Grocery Shopping & Delivery, Kosher Meals on Wheels and more.
