In November, The Lynn Kramer Village by the Shore at Jewish Family Service (JFS) will offer nine interactive, entertaining and unique programs. Plan to participate with friends, family and neighbors and enjoy these virtual and in-person programs.

Breakfast Workshop Hosted by UMC and the JFS Lynn Kramer Village by the Shore

Wednesday, November 1 from 10:30am to 12pm

Join UMC Volunteer Coordinator & External Marketer Michele Musto and Village Community Specialist Tina Serota for a Breakfast Workshop featuring Dr. John Kulin of Shore Urgent Care. Get the latest updates and what to expect from vaccines for COVID, the flu and RSV as well as how to best prepare for a safe and healthy season. Q&A session follows. RSVP by Oct. 24.

Positivity Project: Morning Refresh

Start your day in an upbeat way! Explore positivity with JFS Wellness Coordinator Mary Jean Arreola and Village Community Specialist Tina Serota. You’ll learn ways to boost wellness – mind, body and soul. Topics include self-care, mindfulness, gratitude, meditation and resiliency. RSVP by Nov. 1.

The Village Film Society

Tuesday, November 7 from 10:30am to 11:30am

Join Village Film Enthusiast and Historic Cinematic Buff Tom Celandine and Village Community Specialist Tina Serota for a discussion about the movie, Hannah and Her Sisters, a comedy-drama which showcases the intertwined stories of an extended family that begins and ends with Thanksgiving dinner. Written and directed by Woody Allen, the film stars Mia Farrow as Hannah, Michael Caine as her husband, and Barbara Hershey and Dianne Wiest as her sisters. Available on DVD from the Ventnor library or may be viewed on Prime Video, Apple TV, Roku Channel, or streamed on Vudu. RSVP by Nov. 3.

Memoir Workshop

Friday, November 10 from 10:30am to 11:30am

Experience the thrill of capturing your life’s adventures, history, and ancestry with the Memoir Workshop led by award-winning author and Drexel University Director of Certificate Program in Writing and Publishing, Harriet Levin Millan. You will need a laptop or pen/paper for the workshop. This month, the workshop will be via Zoom only and a link will be emailed. RSVP by Nov. 7.

Comfort Cooking Light & Delicious: Thanksgiving & Leftovers with a Twist

Join Healthy Eating Enthusiast Sheila Hollander as she takes you on a Thanksgiving food journey in search of a delicious, healthy meal and preparing leftovers. You’ll learn to think about holiday recipes in simpler and creative ways with a new approach to comfort foods. RSVP by Nov. 10.

Positivity Project: Evening Retreat

Wednesday, November 15 from 7pm to 7:30pm

Enjoy a leisurely lunch with friends while supporting a local restaurant. This month, we’ll dine at Hannah G’s, located at 7310 Ventnor Avenue in Ventnor. Come prepared for good food and conversation. Order off the menu and pay individually (cash only). RSVP by Nov. 14.

Seminar by the Shore: Conference on Alzheimer’s and Other Dementias

Thursday, November 30 from 8:30am to 4pm

Join Village Community Specialist Tina Serota at a conference for family members, caregivers, and professionals who support people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. The event includes breakfast and lunch as well as free adult daycare, discounted parking and Dementia Live. Cost: $50 per person.
