Spring into April and enjoy these 10 interactive, entertaining and informative virtual programs and activities offered through The Lynn Kramer Village by the Shore at Jewish Family Service of Atlantic & Cape May Counties. Be sure to invite your friends, family and neighbors to participate in these fun programs.

DIY Container Garden

Tuesday, April 5 from 10:30am to 11:30am

Spring is in the air! Join Village Community Specialist Tina Serota via Zoom live from her front porch for a demonstration on planning, creating and maintaining your own manageable Spring bulb and flower container gardens. Beautify your porch, balcony or deck. RSVP by April 1.

Nurse’s Roundtable: Maintaining Mental & Emotional Health During Stressful Times

Wednesday, April 6 from 10:30am to 11:30am

Join Nurse Lori Pasahow and Tina Serota for an in-depth, interactive discussion on how to maintain your mental and emotional health during times of stress and uncertainty. Topics and stressors include living through a pandemic, a world on the brink of war, and the cost of inflation (heat, food, gas and other life necessities). RSVP by April 1.

The Positivity Project: Morning Refresh

Start your day in an upbeat way! Explore positivity during challenging times with JFS Wellness Coordinator Mary Jean Arreola and Tina Serota. You’ll discover ways to boost your wellness – mind, body and soul. Topics include self-care, mindfulness, gratitude, meditation, resiliency and more. Time to feed your mind and spirit! The Village Movie Society

Tuesday, April 12 from 10:30am to 11:30am

Join Theater teacher and coach Louise Marshall Hacker and Tina Serota for a discussion about the movie, Woman in Gold, starring Helen Mirren and Ryan Reynolds. The film follows the true story of one woman’s battle to recover her family’s possessions that had been stolen by the Nazis. Watch ahead of time from the comfort of your home and then share your thoughts. The movie is available on TUBI through Comcast. RSVP by April 7.

BINGO

Wednesday, April 13 from 1pm to 2pm

Join friends and neighbors for an afternoon of BINGO with Tina Serota. BINGO cards will be delivered to those who register in advance. This event is free for Holocaust Survivors and Village Members. For non-members, the cost is $5 payable prior to April 6 to Tina Serota.

Memoir Workshop

Thursday, April 14 from 10:30am to 12pm

Experience the thrill of capturing your life’s adventures, history and ancestry at a Memoir Workshop led by award-winning author and Drexel University Professor of Creative Writing and published author, Harriet Levin Millan. You’ll need a laptop or pen/paper for the workshop. RSVP by April 11.

Comfort Cooking: Healthy & Delicious

Join Bernadette Getzler, healthy eating and gardening guru, as she takes you on a food journey using farm fresh ingredients. Learn to cook your favorite recipes in new and inventive ways by substituting healthier options. Eat comfort foods in a whole new way! RSVP by April 14.

Your world in 60 minutes! Join a fast-paced discussion on politics, technology, world events, the arts, religion and more. Moderated by Tina Serota, this month’s topic includes the unprovoked Russian war on Ukraine, flashbacks to the ‘30s and ‘40s, the devastation, the world’s response, can democracies prevail, and where does the world go from here. Bring your thoughts, news articles and coffee to your computer. RSVP by April 18.

Trivia Game Day

Thursday, April 28 from 4pm to 5pm

Test your knowledge and compete for the top prize! Trivia topics include science, geography, history, music, theater, movies and more. This event is free for Holocaust Survivors and Village Members. For non-members, the cost is $5 payable prior to April 21 to Tina Serota.

The Lynn Kramer Village by the Shore is a membership program for adults over the age of 50. The program provides Intergenerational Events, Transportation, Grocery Shopping and Delivery, Kosher Meals on Wheels and more.
