The Lynn Kramer Village by the Shore at JFS: There’s Something for Everyone to Enjoy this Season

In November, The Lynn Kramer Village by the Shore at Jewish Family Service (JFS) will offer 11 interactive, entertaining and unique programs. Plan to participate with friends, family and neighbors and enjoy these virtual and in-person activities.

Nurse’s Roundtable: Smart Aging Choices for Home Living & COVID Update

Wednesday, November 2 from 10:30am to 11:30am

Join Nurse Educator Lori Pasahow and Village Community Specialist Tina Serota to share ideas about how to make your home lifestyle more user friendly as you age. Then, share your thoughts on safely being active as we stay inside during the third COVID winter season. RSVP by October 31.

Positivity Project: Morning Refresh

Thursday, November 3 from 10:30am to 11:30am

Start your day in an upbeat way! Explore positivity with JFS Wellness Coordinator Mary Jean Arreola and Village Community Specialist Tina Serota. You’ll learn ways to boost wellness – mind, body and soul. Topics include self-care, mindfulness, gratitude, meditation, resiliency, and more. RSVP by November 1.

Village Book Talk Joins JCC’s Arts, Books & Culture

Monday, November 7 from 7pm to 8pm

Welcome local authors Janet Bodoff and Leesa Toscano for a reading and discussion on their just released book, “Speaking of Atlantic City: Recollections & Memories.” View Atlantic City through the decades in a compilation of stories, essays, poetry, interviews, and photographs. This event will take place at the Katz JCC, 501 North Jerome Avenue in Margate. RSVP by November 1.

The Village Movie Society

Tuesday, November 8 from 10:30am to 11:30am

Join Tina Serota for a discussion about the movie, Operation Mincemeat, a story of two British intelligence officers who hatch an outlandish scheme to alter the course of history during World War II. This movie can be viewed on Netflix. RSVP by November 4.

BINGO

Wednesday, November 9 from 1pm to 2pm

Join friends and neighbors for an afternoon of BINGO games and prizes with Tina Serota. BINGO cards will be delivered to those who register in advance. This event is free for Holocaust Survivors and Village Members. For non-members, the cost is $5 payable prior to November 3.

Lunch Around Town

Thursday, November 10 from 12pm to 1:30pm

Enjoy a leisurely lunch with friends and neighbors while supporting a local restaurant. This month, we’ll dine at the Crab Trap, 2 Broadway in Somers Point. Come prepared for good food and fun conversation. Order off the menu and pay individually. RSVP by October 31.

Memoir Workshop: Hybrid

Friday, November 11 from 10:30am to 12pm

Experience the thrill of capturing your life’s adventures, history, and ancestry at a Memoir Workshop led by award-winning author and Drexel University Professor of Creative Writing and Publishing, Harriet Levin Millan. You will need a laptop or pen/paper for the workshop. Attend in-person at the Katz JCC Boardroom, 501 North Jerome Avenue in Margate or from home via Zoom. For Zoom, a link will be emailed to you. Comfort Cooking Healthy & Delicious: Thanksgiving

Join Bernadette Getzler as she takes you on a food journey using farm fresh ingredients. You’ll learn to cook your favorite Thanksgiving recipes and prepare leftovers in new and inventive ways by taking existing ingredients and substituting healthier options. RSVP by November 9.

Coffee Klatch Joins JCC’s Arts, Books & Culture

Join author Samantha Woodruff who will discuss her first novel, The Lobotomist’s Wife, an enthralling historical novel of a compassionate and relentless woman, a cutting-edge breakthrough in psychiatry, and a nightmare in the making. Evening Yoga with Candice

Monday, November 21 from 7pm to 8pm

Join Candice Martin for a Yoga class via Zoom. Find balance and tranquility while experiencing mental, physiological and spiritual rejuvenation. Burn off excess energy through gentle body movements, wind down to a deeper state of relaxation and prepare for your evening rest. RSVP by November 16.
