The 8th Annual Jewish Family Service Card Party, held August 25th at Harbor Pines Golf Club, raised close to $20,000 for The Lynn Kramer Village by the Shore. Nearly 110 attendees gathered for an afternoon of games including Canasta and Mahjong as well as enjoyed a delicious buffet lunch while honoring the memory of community philanthropist, Bonnie Gurwicz.

Through the generous support of sponsors including the Gurwicz Family, the Kiejdan Family, Margaret & Howard Goldberg, Fulton Bank, Ruthie Harrison, Sandy Kahn, Susan & Robert Lang, Susan & Bob Mayer, PACE Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, Right at Home, and Visiting Angels, the Card Party raised vital funds for The Lynn Kramer Village by the Shore, a program that provides a variety of concierge, volunteer and professional services and socialization for adults (50+) in our community.

With more than 15 prizes, several guests went home with fantastic items including MacKenzie-Childs Flower Market Galvanized Buckets, Lenox Flower Frame with Two Tickets to the 2023 JFS House Tour, Movie Night basket, Harbor Pines Associate Membership, Ready for Rosh Hashanah basket, Relax & Rejuvenate basket, and Zen Den gift card. In addition, the Card Party featured a silent auction with guests bidding on items including two show tickets and a $150 dining certificate to Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, Wine & Crabs basket, Michael Aren Menorah, Beaded Clutch from Knit Wit, Mommy & Me Baking Fun, and more.

The late Bonnie Gurwicz created the Card Party fundraiser as an opportunity to add revenue to the existing Golf Tournament. With the on-going success of Card Party, it developed into a standalone event as many of Bonnie’s friends continue to play in her honor. Bonnie’s commitment to JFS and the entire community is one of her lasting legacies.
