Give Today: JFS Friends Campaign

Posted on September 23, 2022

The High Holidays provide the opportunity to reflect on the past year. Jewish people around the world come together to count our blessings, examine our errors; challenge ourselves to become better; give thanks to those who have helped and to be present and generous in the community.

At JFS, we see people affected by homelessness, hunger, substance use, domestic abuse or mental illness every day. We are here to guide our neighbors from crisis to calm and from isolation to connection and help them become their best selves.

We have seen, at JFS, that Mental Health issues have become more prevalent for many individuals. This epidemic is no longer whispered about behind closed doors. It’s in the forefront today and will be for years to come.

We need financial support to meet the evolving needs of our community to make a difference. Please consider a donation to the Annual Friends campaign.

Last year, 13,000 people turned to JFS for support. People in our community are facing complex, long-term issues that require on-going investments in time and resources. They need us now, more than ever.

So, as the Kiddush and Hamotzi (blessing over wine and bread respectively) are recited, remember that we are thankful for your JFS friendship. We wish you and your family a sweet New Year filled with good health and wonderful memories. Shanah Tovah!

This year, in addition to your generous Friends contribution, please consider an additional donation to support Mental Health programs and services. The agency needs to raise $500,000 for the Mental Health Fund to assure that everyone can receive essential services. If every person receiving this letter donated at least $18, an anonymous donor will match up to the first $25,000 allowing your gift to instantly double its impact.
