As a boy in Halberstadt\, Germany\, Fred Behrend saw firsthand the destruction of Jewish life during the Kristallnacht pogrom. His family’s home was invaded\, the synagogue burned\, and Jewish men were beaten and arrested. That marked the\nmoment his parents realized they needed to flee Germany. Following the film\, there will be a Q&A with Fred Behrend and filmmaker Larry Hanover.
