Supervisor of Vocational Services - JOBS

As a Vocational Supervisor for Jewish Family Service, you will be responsible for supervision, coaching, managing your area and processes, process improvement, tracking operation efficiency, production planning and levels, controls and instrumentation, planning, dealing with daily problem solving, and performing the administrative services of our Vocational program within the agency. General management includes long and short range planning in determining the best methods to supervise and direct activities of the program through subordinate management staff (Vocational Managers). This position carries a caseload and tasks include supporting clients who are involved in the justice system in preparing to return to the workforce by connecting them with necessary resource including transportation, IDs, and job training. Assisting with preparing for application and interview process and identifying job placements.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and foster teamwork. Positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the organization. Manages unit/program/department; makes decisions; solves problems; develops unit procedures; develop records/files; conducts meetings; represents unit at internal and external meetings
  • Interprets and ensures self and reporting employees are in compliance with agency/program standards
  • Manages employees and team performance.
  • Ability to build rapport with hard to engage clients
  • Accepts and provides follow up on new referrals from internal and external partners; follows and is aware of discharge status of current Atlantic County Justice Facility (ACJF) clients.
  • Work one on one with clients in ACJF and in the community
  • Able to pass the Atlantic County Justice facility background check
  • Basic computer and telephone literacy.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with program partners
  • Ability to conduct herself/himself in a professional and courteous manner at all times.

Position Requirements:

  • Education - You must hold Bachelors, or Master’s Degree in Social work, Education or Human Resources.
  • Experience – Minimum 2 years of leadership.
  • Personal Trait - Ability to work effectively with Department/Program directors, staff and committees.
  • Continuing Education Licensure appropriate to discipline in which degree is conferred.
  • Fleet- Position - requires ability to drive. When using agency or own vehicle, employee must have a Valid NJ driver’s license and proof of NJ Auto Insurance
