Pre-Winter Coat Drive
Posted on October 31, 2011
Jewish Family Service in partnership with the Point in Time and Project Homeless Connect Committee of the Atlantic County Continuum of Care is hosting a pre-winter coat drive through November. With hundreds of men, women and children living without steady housing, the committee hopes to collect 250 new and gently used coats.
“Our South Jersey winters have been so harsh over the past several years,” explained JFS Director of Mental Health Partnerships Laura Rodgers. “The season is already off to an unprecedented start. By holding this coat drive we will be able to offer our community members winter coats almost immediately.”
Coats for adults and children will be distributed by the Rescue Mission, Jewish Family Service and Behavioral Crossroads during ongoing street outreach to those experiencing homelessness in Atlantic County.
New and gently used coats can be dropped off at the JFS office 607 N. Jerome Ave in Margate during normal business hours. For more information, please contact Laura Rodgers, Director of Mental Health Partnerships at 609- 822-1108 or email.
