JFS WILL PROVIDE FREE SHOES TO CHILDREN IN NEED THROUGH PAYLESS GIVES™ SHOES 4 KIDS
Posted on December 15, 2010
Jewish Family Service of Atlantic and Cape May Counties (JFS) is pleased to announce that they have been selected as an official partner of Payless Gives™, an annual giving program from Payless ShoeSource. JFS will be distributing 45 shoe vouchers to children of families on its client list throughout the holiday season.
“Whether providing holiday toys, supplying hearty meals or giving children new shoes, JFS is continuing to meet the basic needs of members in our community,” said JFS Executive Director Andrea Steinberg. “With the support of companies like Payless we are able to expand and assist even more individuals and families.”
Jewish Family Service serves 3,000 local individuals per year through a variety of services. Responding to the needs of the community, JFS offers counseling, case management, and an array of other services including family and children’s programs, older adult assistance, autism support, Kosher Meals-on-Wheels, a community food pantry and diabetes advocacy.
“Unemployment is still very high, affecting many families that struggle to provide their children with basic essentials,” said LuAnn Via, CEO of Payless. “The success of the program over the past two years, and the number of children and families we have been able to assist, continues to drive our efforts. This is especially challenging during the holidays, and with Jewish Family Service help, we hope to make a bigger impact than ever this year.”
