JFS Expands At Risk Supportive Housing Program
Posted on January 31, 2012
Jewish Family Service is pleased to announce the agency has received a grant from the New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services to expand the At Risk Supportive Housing Program. The funding allows the agency to serve eight additional homeless individuals who are at risk of psychiatric hospitalization. Currently, the JFS At Risk Program serves and houses fifteen individuals. The new funding allows the significant growth of the program.
The At Risk Program provides rental subsidies, a full time case manager and nursing care as well as on call and peer supports to help participants transition from long term homelessness to a secure housing status. JFS helps individuals living at the Atlantic City Rescue Mission, in the streets or woods, to move into secure residential situations. The agency staff also helps to link homeless individuals to medical or mental health services that they need. Jewish Family Service currently supports 110 clients in its Supportive Housing Programs.
