A dozen people participated in the 10th Annual Marc L. Rosenberg (MLR) Friends & Family Bike Ride on September 9th, raising more than $4,500 for the Marc L. Rosenberg Memorial Fund at JFS. Beginning in Margate, this 25-mile ride remembers Marc Rosenberg, a life-long resident of Margate and a business and community leader.
“I realize we were very fortunate to have such a beautiful day and a great turn out to partake in our 10th ride to honor Marc's memory,” said Patti Rosenberg. “Marc would be so honored and proud to know that year after year, even as we all get older, we take this break and pedal on down the Shore as a remembrance and as a way to contribute to a just cause.”
The MLR Bike Ride is a roundtrip ride from Margate to Corson’s Inlet in Ocean City. Riders were asked to donate a minimum of $36 to JFS to participate. Many community members who were not able to participate made contributions as well. Created in 2011, the Marc L. Rosenberg Memorial Fund provides financial support where the agency has most need. This includes programs such as older adult services which provides senior transportation, food pantry, Kosher meals-on-wheels and nursing services.
Donations are still being accepted and can be mailed to Jewish Family Service, 607 North Jerome Ave., Margate, NJ 08402 or made online at www.jfsatlantic.org.
