The 2nd Annual JFS vs JCC Golf Tournament, a collaborative fundraising event between Jewish Family Service and the Milton and Betty Katz Jewish Community Center raised more than $55,000 to benefit both agencies. On Thursday, May 28th at Linwood Country Club, 110 golfers teed off in a rematch for the trophy.

“The committee worked hard to bring this event together and it paid off,” said Joan Glick, co-chair. “The 2nd annual tournament raised $10,000 more than last year.”

The reigning champion JCC was unable to reclaim their title as team JFS took home the trophy. The trophy will be displayed at JFS until next year’s rematch golf tournament.

In addition to friendly competition, the JFS vs JCC Golf Tournament featured many exciting on-course contests such as closest to the pin, hit the boat and chip off the back deck. Many holes also featured fun activities including beer and liquor tastings, water ice, cigar bar, and more. Golfers walked away with great prizes such as foursomes to area golf courses, manicures and pedicures and restaurant gift cards. Richard Wise claimed the “Dine Around for a Year” raffle grand prize which included gift certificates to 12 local restaurants. Other attendees won prizes such as hotel stays, car details, gym/fitness memberships, jewelry, and more.

“What sets this tournament apart from others is the many fun contests, exciting on-course activities and exemplary prizes,” said Darren Matik, co-chair. “It was a beautiful day for golf and it was great to see so many community members support this year’s tournament.”
