JFS Card Party Raises Nearly $10,000 for Village by the Shore

The JFS Card Party, in its first year as a signature event, raised nearly $10,000 for Village by the Shore.  More than 75 attendees gathered at Harbor Pines Golf Club on June 12, 2014 for an afternoon of games, exhibitors, food, fun and prizes.

The Card Party featured the classic games that attendees love including Bridge, Canasta and Mah Jong with several individuals taking home fantastic prizes including gift certificates, wine and even a spa package. The event also showcased a new component, exhibitor tables, where attendees were able to walk around and connect with products and services. Breakfast, a buffet lunch and prizes added to the activities and overall fun of the day which raised essential funding for the agency’s Village, a program that provides a variety of concierge, volunteer and professional services and socialization for adults (50+) in our community.

“By making the Card Party into a signature event this year, it enabled us to add to the day’s activities but also allowed women who typically participate in our golf tournament to join us,” said Andrea Steinberg, JFS Executive Director. “This year we had nearly 20 tables of players, 11 exhibitors and great auction baskets and we are already planning how to make the 2015 Card Party even better.”
