Janney Linwood Hosts Baseball Cap Collection for the Homeless

Posted on July 08, 2014

The Linwood Office of Janney Montgomery Scott LLC is excited to announce a Baseball Cap Collection for the homeless.  Janney staff has partnered with Jewish Family Service of Atlantic and Cape May Counties (JFS) to collect more than 250 hats for the annual Project Homeless Connect event.  Through August 8th, new or gently used hats can be donated at Janney Linwood (401 New Road) to give to those in our community in need.

In addition to hats, Janney Linwood and JFS are collecting other necessities such as sunscreen, water bottles, chapstick and flashlights. All collected items will be distributed to hundreds of homeless individuals during the annual Project Homeless Connect event held on August 15th at the Atlantic City Rescue Mission.

“Collecting hats and other essential items for the homeless is just one small way to give back and make people’s lives a little easier and more comfortable,” said Steve Marchel, Janney Linwood Branch Manager. “This is a great opportunity for local community members to clean out their closets and donate items for a cause.”

All donations can be dropped off at Janney Linwood, 401 New Rd. in Linwood, or Jewish Family Service, 607 N. Jerome Ave., Margate by August 8th.

As a respected local business, Janney Linwood, a JFS Builder Donor, is committed to giving back to the community. With the support of many generous donors, like Janney Linwood, Jewish Family Service serves 3,700 local individuals per year through a variety of services.  Responding to the needs of the community, JFS offers counseling, case management, and an array of other services including family and children’s programs, older adult assistance, autism support, Kosher Meals-on-Wheels, a community food pantry and diabetes advocacy.
