27th Annual JFS House Tour Raises $54,000 for Village by the Shore

Nearly 1,000 guests toured six of the most luxurious Downbeach homes on Monday August 4, 2014during the JFS House Tour. The most highly attended tour to date, the 27th Annual House Tour raised $54,000 for Village by the Shore, which provides a variety of concierge, volunteer and professional services and socialization for adults (50+) in our community.
One of the new elements offered to this year’s tour attendees was a VIP ticket including door to door transportation and a fast pass. The upgraded ticket was a great success with approximately 50 attendees embracing the VIP experience.
From a large family home on the beach in Longport to a completely rebuilt house in Ventnor, each home offered a different appeal to spark attendee interest. Trade sponsors from Remarkable Renovations, Colmar Kitchen & Bath, Philip Petrino Interior Design, LaVerde Land Developers, Bahdeebahdu, TJC Architects, Kroungold’s Furniture, Van Duyne Builders, Peter Lumber Company and Harman Deutsch offered guests creative insight, design concepts, and information about the homes.
Outside each home was as magnificent and fun as the interior with wrap-around porches, swimming pools with ocean views and large decks complete with boat docks on the bay. Plus guests enjoyed food tastings from Luke Palladino and Shackamaxon Catering, music from SOJO 104.9 and water ice from Allstate Insurance. Attendees also received giveaways from Jewish Exponent including candy filled balloons, drawstring bags and more.
This year, JFS had more than 100 volunteers dedicate their day to help make the event a success. Organized by co-chairs Stephanie Lutz-Koch and Johanna Perskie, the 2014 House Tour was the most successful to date, with generous sponsors and advertisers such as Abramson Center for Family Life, Downbeach Deli, Ocean City Home Bank and many more.
Five lucky winners took home fabulous raffle prizes including a diamond pendant necklace from Serago Roberts Jewelers, two VIP tickets to Luke Palladino Passyunk Ave. restaurant opening and dinner, a pair of courtside 76ers tickets, a cooking class from Greens and Grains and a 100-trip Downbeach Express Pass.
The House Tour committee is already searching for homes to place on next year’s tour, scheduled for August 3, 2015. If you would like to find out more information about JFS or ways to get involved, call 609-822-1108 or visit www.jfsatlantic.org.
