JFS Expanding Counseling Services to Cape May Office Location

Jewish Family Service of Atlantic and Cape May Counties (JFS) is proud to announce that the Cape May County Department of Human Services has awarded the agency a grant to provide therapeutic services to children who have been impacted by trauma in Cape May County. This funding offers families with barriers to services access to specialized counseling services in their local community. The program will provide Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy which follows the agency’s renowned

Specialty Center for Youth Interventions model.

“This is an invaluable resource for families in Cape May County and provides an expertise that is not currently available,” said Pat Devaney, Cape May County Director of Human Services. “We are very happy to offer this new service to residents of the county.”

JFS is proud to announce Emily Lattimore, LSW, has been appointed as outpatient therapist in the Cape May County location. An experienced clinician with a master’s degree in social work from University of Maryland, she has worked with youth, the homeless population and adults with severe mental illness. She is trained in targeted case management, trauma, motivational interviewing, harm reduction and transgender awareness.

“Emily is a talented clinician with extraordinary skills who is motivated to work with children and adolescents impacted by trauma,” said Naomi Jones, JFS Director of Clinical and Intake Services. “With her experience, she will be extremely successful in helping this population who may have otherwise been underserved.”

The Cape May County location is based in Cape Counseling Incorporated’s Family Success Center.  Cape Counseling is a preeminent mental health agency in Cape May County, located at 1046B Route 47 in Rio Grande.
